Summer Braiding Camp

Level up your braiding skills this summer with Dark Shugar's Summer Braiding Camp, our most popular program for teens.

Choose your vibe: start with the Summer Starter Camp (June 16 to July 11, 4 weeks) to master the basics, or jump straight into the Boss Braider Camp (July 28 to August 15, 3 weeks) to perfect advanced techniques.

We will cover foundations such as hair hygiene, natural hair basics, detangling, moisturizing, parting techniques, straight-back cornrows, basic plaits, and neat parting practice.

Campers will then elevate their braiding skills through feed-in techniques, knotless basics, extension blending, sectioning methods, and client comfort.

Finally, we will equip you with entrepreneurial skills to start or grow a business, including salon etiquette, customer service, taking pictures and videos, pricing basics, hygiene and sanitation, and building confidence.

Classes meet Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Saturdays.

Whether you are 12 to 15 or 16 to 19, you will get hands-on training in natural hair care, trending braid styles, and professional techniques.

Every session includes a braiding kit, mannequin head, premium hair products, workbook, snacks, and a mini graduation celebration. We also capture group content and photos so you can share your new skills.
